Weighback™

Privacy Policy

Effective May 25, 2026

This is the privacy policy for Weighback™, an iOS application developed by Brian R. Jackson. It describes the data Weighback accesses, what happens to it, and the rights you have over it.

Short version

Data Weighback accesses

Weighback requests permission to read body-mass (weight) samples from Apple Health. With your permission, the app reads your weight history and the dates each reading was recorded. This data is used to render the chart, identify milestones, and compute the “weighback” match for your current weight.

Weighback does not request permission to write to Apple Health. It cannot create, modify, or delete any data in Apple Health.

You can revoke Apple Health access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Weighback. Doing so removes Weighback's ability to read your weight data; the app will return to an empty state.

Data Weighback stores on your device

Weighback uses your device's user-defaults storage to remember:

None of these values leave your device. They are tied to the app's sandbox and removed when you uninstall the app.

Data Weighback transmits

Weighback makes no outbound network connections. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising network, no telemetry of any kind.

When you make a donation, the purchase request is sent from your device directly to Apple's StoreKit servers. Apple processes the transaction. Apple notifies Weighback that the purchase succeeded; the only data Weighback receives is the transaction's verification token, which is used to verify the purchase and is not stored persistently.

Children's privacy

Weighback is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
